Associazione Italiana per l’Intelligenza Artificiale

The Italian Association for Artificial Intelligence (AI*IA - Associazione Italiana per l'Intelligenza Artificiale) is a non-profit scientific society founded in 1988 devoted to the promotion of Artificial Intelligence. The society aims to increase the public awareness of AI, encourage the teaching of it, promote research in the field and the transfer of technology to industry. The association has seven working groups focused on specific topics: multiagent systems, AI for cultural heritage, robotics, machine learning and data mining, knowledge representation and automated reasoning, natural language processing, AI and ageing. The association has around 500 members.

The association yearly organizes a meeting of its members that comprises several technical sessions with accepted papers published formally in proceedings plus thematic workshops.

Moreover, the association offers a number of benefits to its members, including a Google Apps account with domain, online access to the journal Intelligenza Artificiale, event sponsoring, awards and scholarships for students for attending events in Italy.
